Welcome to the En Garde! Wiki a database which anyone can edit.
See About En Garde! - What is this game all about anyway?
Originally published in 1975 as a tabletop game, En Garde! has been used extensively as a base for play-by-mail (PBM) and Play-by-e-mail (PBeM) games. In many of these games, the rules have been extended or modified. In some games the setting has been changed completely: there are versions set in other countries or other centuries or in fictional settings (there are several science fiction games, for instance).
En Garde! was published by Game Designers' Workshop in the USA until 1983. SFC Press in the UK published a third edition in 1988 until it closed in 2003. The latest, fourth edition was published at the end of 2005 and is currently available through games and book shops.
